Introdcution of England

England was formed and founded on July 12, 927 AD, and was an independent kingdom until it united with Scotland on May 1st, 1707, which created the United Kindom of Great Britain. England is located in the southeastern section of the U.K. (United Kingdom). England neighbors with Whales at its eastern border and Scotland at its northern border (shown below). The Irish Sea lies northwest of England while the Celtic Sea to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea. England itself covers five-eighths of Great Britain's island, which has over 100 smaller islands, such as the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight.

The climate in England is called temperate maritime, which means it is mild with temperatures not much lower than 0ºC in winter and not much higher than 32ºC in summer. Essentially England isn't too cold or too hot for long periods of time. The most common natural disaster in England is flooding due to high amounts of rain. England's well-known capital city London is widely known and worldly assumed for massive amounts of rainfall (inches) every year. It rains so much in England and London that in its driest month of May, averaging 58.4 mm (2.31 inch) of rain. No wonder in the movies it's raining every time in London.
